I was wondering about the palm trees and thinking you were in the UK.
    Portugal explains it!
How long have you been there. I’m thinking quite some time?
I love your site and exercises, they brought me back to full function after my double knee replacement.
    Thanks, JIM

Oh great, I just started with very basic bodyweight excersises, forward lunges, squats and push-ups. But I’m a gardener with old injuries so I don’t have real restdays, causing a lot of stiffness and muscle soreness. I will definitely add this as a daily routine. Thanks for sharing.

Great warm up Greg. Just like to add that with the side to side swing I would recommend to release the ankle on the opposite side to prevent twisting the lower back too much. What do yo think?
The wrists I tend to let my clients do in a figure 8 (brain gym at the same time!) and I add the shoulder touches: arms extended from the side, first palm up and touch shoulders by flexing elbows, then palms down and touch shoulders as well. So while flexing the palms do not supinate/pronate.
Love your work, you’re my go-to when I need some ideas, THANKS!
    Patty

    1. Greg Brookes Avatar

Yes most definitely Patty, you will want to pivot at the ankle when performing lateral swings.

Thanks for this warm-up video! I think it’ll help my mobility tremendously. I had been doing so well with the 21-day swing, moving up from a 15# to a 20# kettlebell, when a little over two months ago I developed joint effusion in my knee (aka “water on the knee”). I was very careful of my swing form, so I don’t think my doing swings is what caused this, but rather it was an unfortunate coincidence. While it’s still uncomfortable, I have almost all the mobility back, so I was thinking to gently start over with the 15#. I think this warm-up will set me out on the right foot (knee?).

PS – I did consult my physician. 🙂
