Olympics Kettlebell and Bodyweight Workout

By Greg Brookes

I hope you had a wonderful and healthy weekend.

I’ve been really enjoying the first few days of the Olympics in Rio, especially the Rugby 7’s, Fencing and Gymnastics.

The Olympics inspired me to put together a very special workout for you:

Greg’s Olympics Workout

  1. O – One Arm Row x 10 each side
  2. L – Lunge with Rotation x 20 alternating sides
  3. Y – Yoga Squats x 20
  4. M – Mountain Climbers Slow x 20
  5. P – Push Ups x 20
  6. I – Isometric Goblet Squats x 20 (pause at the bottom for 3 seconds)
  7. C – Clean & Press x 10 each side
  8. S – Swings x 20

You get everything in this workout that you need: Rotation, Mobility, Core Stability, Isometrics, Cardio, Explosiveness, and all the Essential Movement Patterns.

Watch a video of the Yoga Squat below:

Run through the workout taking as little rest as possible between exercises. If you cannot manage the recommended number then just do as many reps as you can with good form.

If ever you get stuck for a workout just remember the OLYMPICS and you always have a full body workout that ticks all the boxes.

That’s all for today. Enjoy the Olympics.

Take care

Greg

I particularly like the yoga squat, but I wonder why it’s important not to take both hands off the floor at the same time. Thank you.
